It must have been produced somewhere between 1980 and 2000 and is a thriller-sci fi film. It involves a cop-detective who is trying to solve a murder case but he can't find any clues about the serial killer. The most characteristic scene was when the protagonist went to sleep and dreamt a chase in a sewer with the serial killer. In this scene, we cannot actually see the image of the killer but he hurts the protagonist. He awakens from his dream in his bed but he also has a scar in his chest inflicted to him by the killer in his dream... I was a child when I saw this movie and I can't find anywhere its title.
It's not Timecop (1994) and I think Freddy only attacked children...
