he's 19 and i'm 17, we've been dating for 9 months. he's going through a rough patch right now, money wise, so we agreed not to get each other anything, but i'd still like to get him something small. even if it was just some of his favourite candy or something. what would you guys recommend i get him, and how much should be my budget?

the move is what counts. The fact that you thought of him. Even though i dont know what to reccommend cause i am a male, something meaningful, even small, would be perfect.

For example, i once made an origami beating heart for my girlfriend because i was short back then to buy her something, and she loved it!! Maybe something that you will make for him? A dvd of a movie that he likes or means something to both of you?? Or maybe a shirt- t-shirt-jacket that you know he likes?? What about a box of his favorite chocolates? (flowers seem a little unusual for me to be given from the girl side)
